What do you
want most in your life? Because
NOW is the time to get it.
Writing in
Stumbling Toward Happiness,
Harvard psychologist Daniel
Gilbert explains that research
unequivocally shows people don't
regret the actions they take.
Rather, regrets are based on
actions NOT taken.
NOW is the time to identify what
you want - to write it down - and to take small
steps toward your desires. No,
not huge lunges. Those only make
you fearful. Instead, take
small, baby steps, so you can be
experience success. Then
congratulate yourself. Praise
increases dopamine levels, a
chemical tied to JOY.
How can you identify your true
desires? First start with what
you DON'T WANT. You clearly know
what that is, don't you? Then
switch to describing what you DO
WANT.

which will help you do this.
After you're clear about what
you want, switch to putting a
plan in action to get what you
want. Picture in your mind one
of the things you want.
Describe:
-
why you want
it
-
one obstacle
you may face in getting it
-
how you'll
feel when you get it
-
a tiny step
you can take toward getting
it
-
when you'll
take that step
-
who'll
support you in taking that
step
-
and how
you'll celebrate your
success (FYI: Gratitude is
closely tied to increased
happiness.)
